Our trip to the East

Last week Kyle had a interview in Indianapolis at IUPUI. We decided to make a vacation out of it and go see where Kyle served his mission in New York.
We left Salt Lake at 12:50 am flew into Atlanta for a 4hr lay over and then back on a small scary plane to Rochester. The landing in Rochester was the longest scariest thing I have ever experienced. I thought for sure we were going to crash. It was so windy and the plane was swaying back and forth and shaking real bad. It took us 45min to land because the pilot would start to go down and he would have to pull back up because the turbulence was so bad, he did this like 5 times. By the time we finally landed Kyle was as pale as a ghost and ended up throwing up in the airport. I felt so bad for him. Some how Ryan slept through the whole thing. It doesn't make sense because the guy wakes up if a pin drops but he slept through this landing. I'm still baffled. =)

Once we got our rental car we headed to Palmyra. When we got there they said we couldn't go through the Sacred Grove because of the wind. So we went through Joseph Smith houses, the Hill Cumorah visitor center, and stopped by the temple for some pics. But we did go back the next day to see the Grove.
This is the room Joseph was in when the angel Moroni came to him.

This is the house from the out side.

This is the house that Alvin Smith was building for him and his wife before he passed away.

Behind Josephs House was the Sacred Grove.
This was Kyles Favorite tree in the Grove, he was sad to see the branches cut off.

Just down the street was the Hill Cumorah.

This is at the bottom of the hill.

The bottom looking up at the Hill.

This is the monument at the top of the hill. This day was so so cold we didn't get to many pics on top because the wind was so strong and cold.

These pics were both in the visitors center at the Hill Cumorah.

Here is the Palmyra temple from the Smith farm.

Well this is just part of the first two days in New York. So you better believe there are more posts to come.. =)

Thanks for a fun Birthday!!

What a fun and depressing Birthday.. Depressing because I'm one year older. Ok it wasn't really depressing just alittle sad, I hate getting older. But it was so fun to spend it with Kyle, Jayme and Paul. we went to me favorite place Chilis for Mushroom Jack Fajitas.. After we ate we went to the movie Marly and Me. It was such a cute movie, but beware you will definatly cry.
Thanks you guys for making my Birthday so fun..

Congrats Ky!!!!

Kyle graduated on Friday with a Bachelor of Science from Weber State..

Wow was the ceremony boring.. I'm pretty sure all 6 of us there watching Kyle fell asleep while the speakers were talking. My Dad, mom, bother, sister and Kyle's mom all came. Kyle's dad wasn't able to come because he fell of a 20 ft latter on the 4th. Poor guy is stuck home with 11 broken bones. :( We sure missed him!! Over all it was fun to see him graduate and be with our family..

I'm so excited to have Kyle around more and not studying all the time.. and he is excited to have a break from the books..
